Planning your new roof...
What do you look for in a contractor?
A new roof is a huge financial commitment, that’s why at Superior Roofing Systems we want you to be
comfortable with your decision. We will gladly offer you a list of local references. That way you can
hear directly from our past customers about the quality of our work. Whether you choose Superior Roofing
Systems or another contractor, we recommend you contact the Better Business
Bureau so you can see how responsive they are to any complaints about their work.
At Superior Roofing Systems we suggest you shop around and get bids from other companies as well. Bids
are based on building specifications, materials, labor and the time needed to complete the project. Our
prices may not be the lowest; but that’s because we only use the highest quality materials and the time
and work we dedicate to your home will be the most thorough. Unfortunately, roofing is not an exact
science and hidden problems may arise. At Superior Roofing Systems we will walk you through the entire
process, so you will never in the dark about the construction of your new roof.
How do I negotiate a contract?
When working with a roofing company, you should always have a contract. This protects both you, the
customer, and the company. Superior Roofing Systems recommends your contract contain a thorough
description of the work to be done. This should include all materials to be used, specifically the
color, size and brand name. The contract should also contain the agreed upon starting and completion time,
payment schedule, all warranties and guarantees, and the method of debris and material removal once the
job is completed.
Living through a roofing project...
Repairing or replacing a roof is a major construction project, and can be an inconvenience to you
and your family. Superior Roofing Systems strives to make the disruption as minimal as possible.
However, here are some of the inconveniences you may expect:
Debris: When your old roof is removed, it has to go somewhere. Superior Roofing Systems uses
dumpsters and tarps to catch the majority of the debris, and to protect your home and landscaping.
It is not uncommon, however, for a stray nail or shingle to find it’s way onto your driveway or yard.
Noise: The removal and the replacement of your new one can be loud. Dumping the debris in
dumpsters and pneumatic tools make noise. Superior Roofing Systems will take pains to avoid disrupting
you and neighbors whenever possible.
Time: Installing a new roof takes time and unfortunately Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate.
Weather delays are common. Sometimes it can be tempting for the homeowner to blame the roofer.
Remember though, you don’t want your roof installed under less than ideal conditions. In the end,
your patience will pay off with a better-installed roofing system.
